Shelf Bracket Detail

The brackets are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Using the media to support and create a shelf bracket combines the room decor, customize its size and build it yourself.

  1. Choose brackets that fit the rack chosen. A shelf typically is 12 inches (30 centimeters) deep. The brackets are basically in the form of “L”; one leg of the L is connected to the wall, and the other protruding from the wall at an angle of 90 degrees.
  2. If the brackets are too far apart, the shelf will sink. A good general rule is to place a support every 16 inches (40 centimeters). Placed one at each end of the shelf, a 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the outer edge, and each 16 inches (40 centimeters) along the length of the shelf.
  3. Mark the wall with a pencil, in the position of the bottom of the rack. Measure the distance from the floor to the mark.
  4. Install the shelf bracket on the wall in the indicated location, following the manufacturer’s instructions to attach the brackets.
  5. Place rack, centered, on top of the shelf bracket and insert the screws through the brackets on the bottom of the rack to secure it in place. Is useful in advance the drill screw holes to prevent a rack timber breaks.
